This is the second time I went into this particular store at 501 Ritson Rd. S. by the McDonald’s. I’ve shopped at every location and never had the experience I had today. While browsing the aisles and checking the ingredients apparently the cameras flagged myself and my elderly mother for shoplifting. We were very put off by this as I wasn’t aware that reaching into your pocket for personal items will look like shoplifting. Even after we were approached we were followed around for the duration of our shopping experience. Needless to say we won’t be shopping there again especially since as the only black customers we obviously weren’t welcome but our dollars were. They continued to target us specifically with a store full of white people, particularly when we were at the checkout and the sole cashier was ready to assist the people next in line before we were finished our transactions, as I had already verbally and clearly informed the cashier that there would be two separate transactions. If shopping while black is going to continuously be this type of degrading experience then we don’t need to shop at these establishments in Oshawa or any place else. The only illegal activity that constituted addressing was the sale of the non-government permitted plastic bags that I did not buy because I went out and got my own after my purchase. Saddened and disgusted that there is an ongoing assault of character and on colour.

Went in to solve a small issue got double charged. A ginger lady( the daughter I believe) was very rude I wasn’t having a good day, she had asked me how I was doing and then said very snarky thanks for asking me I was already frustrated with how the situation was getting handled not impressed with the professionalism very rude to treat a customer.

this place has all expired and moldy items i bought stuff checked everything expired here please don’t waste ur time or money this place should be closed down not acceptable give people such things

Bought a box of the protein builder bars.. chocolate flavoured. Paid $6 for 12 just tried eating one and they’re moldy.. the entire bottom is black mold although the expiry date listed is September 10 2025!! They had a ton of boxes DO NOT PURCHASE

Great place for people to get great deals, I visited this location last week, it had been awhile since my last visit, the people working there are always wonderful, the gentleman running it has always been kind and tries to help everyone, I was taken back again by the behaviour of the women that was working there, same women I found abrupt and rude at the Bloor location, (maybe an owner as well)

I am a regular customer, and just love Carolyn's. There are new products almost daily. Fabulous for snacks and cleaning items . I just love their famous 2 for 1 deals. The regular items include fresh bread, buns, and colourful Brooklyn bagels. The cold cuts are well priced and delicious, especially the sliced roast beef. I often pick up something from the frozen food section, pizza, pasta, meat balls, ribs, choices vary. At these I have tried new items and haven't been disappointed yet. When jn doubt ask a patron who is buying the item, and in my experience they will tell you all about it, in a friendly manner. The staff are truly wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and funny. The prices are some of the best in town. I take friends there from out of town, and they too have made it regular shopping stop.

Grocery prices are good with a rotating selection. Beyond that unfortunately a lot of the non grocery goods are illegitimate. They keep a lot of the more expensive looking products and electronics behind the counter where you can't get a close look and all sales are final, leaving you with a fake shoddy product that you can't refund or replace. The illegitimate products wouldn't even be as much of a problem if they offered limited refunds. As is though I'm very let down and disappointed with the store.

I had asked you how you are and you just ignored me ! So I said good thanks - it was a very small issue and it was resolved? Not sure how much more professional someone can be while being blatantly ignored after asking how someone is !
