I had a very disappointing experience at this Shoppers Drug Mart, specifically in the fragrance department. On Friday, November 28th, my girlfriend and I stopped in after dinner at The Keg. We were dressed up and planned to purchase a new cologne. A few days earlier, I had visited the same store wearing a hoodie, track pants, and a cap. Ola, who was working in the makeup and fragrance section at the time, repeatedly told me how busy she was and didn’t allow me to try any fragrances. I left feeling dismissed and unimportant. Fast forward to November 29th—when my girlfriend and I walked in dressed to the nines, the same employee suddenly ran over from the cash register to assist us. The difference in treatment was obvious and extremely disappointing. It felt discriminatory and left a sour feeling about this store’s customer service standards. I even said to her, “Funny how you come running now that I’m dressed up, Ola, but couldn’t help me the other day when I was in track pants and a hoodie.” We walked out without buying anything. It’s unfortunate, because Darla—who usually helps me and is absolutely fantastic—wasn’t in that day. She has always provided excellent service, and I would have gladly purchased the cologne if she were there. This experience with Ola was unacceptable. No customer should be treated differently based on what they’re wearing.
I went to this location (Oshawa centre) last Thursday and the assistant manager Jadon went above and beyond to help me. I really appreciated his kindness and immediate help. Thank you again Jadon!
Christine in the fragrance department made my day. Knowledgeable, friendly and amazing customer service skills. I walked away satisfied with my purchase of mens cologne for my teenage grandson. I originally purchased cologne on Monday from this same shoppers however felt i needed to exchange it and Christine was able to ask the right questions that ultimately allowed me to make the best choice. Christine also encouraged me to sign up for the optimum points card which immediately I accumulated $40 worth of points. Further to this she shared about the oshawa centres purchase $100 gift card and you get a bonus $10 gift card. That starts i believe this Sunday. Your the best Christine ?... My only con customer service at the Rossland and Wilson location was below satisfactory. Im now going to give them a review.
Very disappointing experience at Shoppers Drug Mart Pharmacy (Oshawa) I’ve had two very frustrating experiences here regarding my vaccines. The pharmacist Asad Baig refused to give me my flu and COVID shots, arguing that I wasn’t allowed to get them yet—even though I clearly explained that I needed them for my college placement in long-term care and that I qualified under the priority group (healthcare worker). He dismissed what I said and even told me he didn’t care about what his colleague had told me the previous week when I came in. During my first visit, I was made to wait over two hours in the store only for them to say they needed to “call my doctor” to confirm my vaccine dosage. They promised to handle it, but when I followed up, another staff member rudely told me to “figure it out myself” and to contact my doctor instead. Because of this, I lost another day and they even wasted the vaccine dose that was supposed to be used for me. Overall, the staff showed a lack of professionalism, poor communication, and little respect toward students just trying to meet their health requirements. It’s disappointing to be treated this way when all I was trying to do was stay up to date on my vaccines for school and work.
I want to give a huge shoutout to the pharmacist Edilyn and Nyla for their hardwork! They helped me a lot during my visit and I hope God blesses them! Kind and very helpful! Best pharmacy in Durham region!
I love this location especially for the beauty section. Darlene’s customer service is exceptional! I also come here for their perfume selection, this location definitely deserves the 5 stars.
