This was my first time in the store, was there to sell some records. Best experience ever! First of all, they have everything, the store has Some cool stuff. The manager is a great guy and knows his craft. He was very fair with the offer on my records. First time I ever pawned something and didn’t walk out feeling disappointed. Now Thats! A record store.
I regularly visit this store, as it's a good, solid local record shop. Wide selection of new and used records across all genres. They tend to have better periodic sales and more used jazz than I've seen at other stores in Durham and downtown Toronto. Service is okay - not unfriendly but more of a "give you space to crate dig" vibe vs engaging in conversation about music and records.
Sound the siren, Kops are in town! This shop has been continously improved upon to deliver a clean and massive selection for new, used and collectable records! Will and the staff have always helped me and create a super chill environment to browse and find diamonds in the rough (Johnny Thunders, The Sonics, Green River, Mudhoney, Ramones just to name a few dessert island records they've supplied me with!) Take a visit and be prepared to walk away with some records!!
Went there for the first time today as I had bought a vintage record player and wow, staff is great, selection is great. Had what I was looking for and the price was right. Making this place my go to for records!
I ordered online. It kept me upto date on the location of my order and when it was ready to pick up. So it was an in and out trip. Im the type of person who can't be around crowds of people. So this made it so smooth. I would definitely use them again to find what album I happen to be looking for.
Horrible customer service and policies. They are happy to sell you a warped record fresh out of the shrink wrap. If you ask for a replacement they’ll basically tell you if it plays, it’s fine. This is the first time I’ve experienced this with a record store. Now I’m stuck with a warped Khruangbin record that I don’t want. Thanks Kops records. Update - regarding your response below. Your Oshawa store manager absolutely did not appreciate me emailing his personal account about this issue. The lack of communication is astounding. Your manager told me in a very abrasive email (probably because he was not expecting to be contacted on his private email) that I could bring in the receipt and the record. This was the first thing that I tried 3 months ago when I discovered the record was warped and sounded awful.
Great selection and laid back staff. Could've spent hours just looking through e very thing. Picked up some Lps and will be coming back again when I need to feed the vinyl addiction.
