My wife needed some Wool for a Crochet project. The owner was polite, friendly & very helpful with helping my wife pick the right wool. Lots of inventory of many types of wool.
I wanted to experience my first monthly yarn subscription box. I came across this site when I was researching Canadian companies that offered this service. I was joyed to see that they were very decently priced. On their main page, there is a description box about the monthly yarn club that says it will include the yarn, pattern, and needles or hooks. When you click on that box it takes you further about the monthly club. In there, again, it says that each month the member would receive a yarn, a pattern and now a mystery add-on. I assumed the third item would be a mystery add-on or the needles or hooks, either way I thought I was going to get either or and I would have been happy about it. When I opened the box I received today, I got a wonderful letter by Jann, four winter patterns (it’s spring season now), and rainbow yarn (Cascade Yarns Anthem Rondo). I did not receive the mystery add-on or the needles or hooks as stated in their descriptions. I paid $25 for this. I give two stars because I found the staff to be very caring and friendly, however, what I received in my monthly box was not worth $25! I could have found these patterns online for free and gone out to buy the same yarn or similar for much less. I am not too happy about my purchase and I will not continue with my monthly subscriptions with The Wool Queen.
The customer service and care is phenomenal. I'm so glad I decided to check out this little shop. Dont let the size of the store fool you, she has A LOT of amazing yarn and tools! I'm going to be a regular. The owner is also so great answering questions and helping with my projects.
The lady at the store was suuuuuper nice and really helpful!! The store is very cozy and there are a ton of different options of wool at really good prices. I will be going there again once I run out of the wool I got. The only thing I would suggest is getting metal crochet hooks, there may have been some there and I didn’t seem them but I broke the plastic one within an hour of using it... my own fault! Amazing store 10/10 would for sure suggest!
First she saved my project after the dog ripped out some stitches. Then when I went back she gave me lots of tips and advice--great place for a new knitter, I'm sure I'll become a regular.
Love, love this wool shop! It's a friendly quiet little place. It's too bad it's not in the province I live in. The owner is friendly and helpful and provides all services required. I make sure I drop in here and pick up a few things every time I'm in Oshawa.
Went for the first time today with my mother! Loved the friendly and helpful service. Wasn't going to purchase anything just yet, but my mother twisted my rubber arm and 36$ later, I have the yarn I need to make one of my nieces' Christmas gift.
