Posting to warn others in Durham Region: we hired a kitchen cabinet company to redo our kitchen and Jack was the cabinet maker assigned, with a promised completion date in the first week of August. He kept rescheduling or simply not showing up often at the last minute - which meant lost days, rearranged work, and a torn-up kitchen for weeks. This happened 15 to 20 times. After multiple complaints and follow-ups (texts), he finally came about a month late, did a bit of work, then left the job half finished with no revised timeline and no plan to complete. We ultimately had to hire someone else to finish and fix the work, adding cost and delay. After all this, I noticed other low-star reviews about similar issues and wish I’d seen them sooner. Based on my experience, do not give Jack your business - he won’t do the job on time, won’t respond, won’t show up on time, and won’t complete the work. This was a very unprofessional experience from start to finish. Highly not recommended! Beware of this Business!
I recently had Jack build custom built-ins around our fireplace and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The craftsmanship is excellent – the built-ins look like they’ve always been part of the home, with great attention to detail and quality work. He was also very responsive throughout the process, easy to communicate with, and made sure everything turned out exactly as we wanted. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for custom work done right!
I would have loved to leave a good review and I'm so glad others were happy with their kitchens. I feel like I need to be honest so that this doesn't happen to someone else. Our kitchen was booked in March of this year(2025) when a deposit was also given. A completion date of 4-6 weeks was told to us. It is now August of 2025 and still no finished result(5 months). Measurements were not accurate, didn't show up when dates were planned, we were told we were priority and "next up" but would see other kitchens being finished before ours via social media. Huge lack of honest communication. Left a message with him after terminating our business with him and not even an apology! No accountability taken. When my husband shared his frustration on the quality of work, he mentioned insulting his work would not get things done any quicker. All in all not a good experience and very frustrating having to have someone else come and fix/finish the work completed. This is the list we sent and didn't hear back about when it could be completed for two weeks.
Our kitchen reno is complete!! We were referred to Jack by another contractor and he brought our vision to life with our stunning black and white kitchen!! Jack was very easy to deal with when it came to our vision and the changes along the way. This was a big Reno for us and the main focal point of our house, walking in and seeing our kitchen just has me in ahhhh! Our kitchen is stunning and will definitely have Jack back for more projects!!!
SaphCo is highly recommended for cabinetry and countertops services. We had completed our kitchen refinishing where we changed the cabinets and put new counter tops. Jack was amazing and the experience with him was very satisfying. I loved the kitchen he completed.
Unfortunately it was the first and last time. I had a vey simple project , new door for kitchen 22 panels altogether. The first time he made the doors smaller then requested by 3/16 h/w. The second time there were damaged panels, none of the edging was completed, my guys had to do them, but again 3 panel were damaged, a few were questionable but, the client was ok once I offered a discount for the inconvenience. The third time the three panels that was left were all damaged, I’m forced to source elsewhere, I can’t continue hoping jack will get it right
Highly recommend Saphco. They installed a basement kitchen and hall closet with floating bench for an incredible price and the end result was stunning. We will absolutely be using Saphco for future projects.
