Had an exhaust problem, so i went to the Mitsubishi dealership where I have gone since buying the car, got a very snoby we cant see you but leave the car and we might get to it in a couple of days!! Suffice it to say did not stay long, Ritson Service was near where I live so I thought I would give it a "look see" since my neighbor had used them a time or 2 I explained the circumstance they said to wait one moment for a bay to be made ready and within a few minutes the car was on the hoist and I was escorted to my vehicle to show where the cause of the problem was and what was to be done to put things right. We went back into the office where a quote was done for the job and to have me approve of the work to be done. I was told it would be about an hour and a half to get things done so a little walk to a close Timmies for a cup of coffee and a few phone calls and I went back to the shop where my car was waiting for me. We discussed what was done and found to my delight that the final bill was less than the estimate given, it seems a few gaskets and fasteners were not needed to be replaced so all in all pretty good stuff. Friendly helpful staff at the counter plus fast and efficient mechanics to do the job equals a happy customer. I intend to go back for my regular scheduled maintenance.
To start off - I will say that the Auto Service SHOP is entirely seperate from the dealership. The one mechanic I spoke to was a sweet man and he broke down how it works there to me... Insanity that someone falls asleep at night with these morals. I had an absolutely disturbing experience purchasing a used vehicle "certified" from Franco "Faisal Atta" at Ritson Road Auto Sales. I'm unsure where my car was sent for the "safety" as Franco only sends cars that are legitimately safe next door to the mechanics there as they'll tell him to pay for what's wrong which he "doesn't like doing." Quoted from the mechanics mouth. I won't specify which one as I'm sure he appreciates his job. When I picked my vehicle up it was not only full with 2 inches of water leaking from the sunroof drains but was told it was from the detail job so I vacuumed it multiple times like an idiot. There was also 5 lights on on my dash. Which werent there when I test drove a week prior. In the first 6 weeks of purchasing my car for 11 thousand dollars cash, I had my car with me 14 days maximum while it was "being fixed" for the other weeks - they were driving my car around for 3 weeks straight and nothing was fixed when returned. One time they put cardboard over the water to make it firm and seemingly "dry" for a few more days. The last time, a connector was broken for a module that they "fixed" "from my car being 2 inches full of water from the sunroof." It wasn't from that, it was for what wasn't fixed for the safety the whole time. I was given the run around, "the lights are on from the water in the car" - Franco constantly blaming other people for things coming back more broken than before. And then I take it to another mechanic after it driving around all squeely and bumpy and they stated it shouldn't have passed safety. I provided Franco with the invoice and he says "you've driven your car 1700km, what do you want me to do". I've had my car fixed myself throughout the warranty period - 4000.00$ in repairs which would've cost Franco next to nothing. Karma will always get those who are not honest.
Disappointed. Miracle (front desk worker) is the only one who make this shop deserve the 1 star. Otherwise, if possible I would give it 0. They’re nice when the opportunity to make money is there otherwise the customer is irrelevant. Claiming out of warranty range and then that it was paid in cash so regardless if it was within the warranty period, it wouldn’t have been covered regardless. Did a safety a few months back where the mechanic claimed I’ll need a new muffler eventually. I’m sure they would’ve been happy to tack on the price of a new muffler but after mentioning it was them that did it in the first place, all I got was “it’s ok, I said soon not now”
Awful! Liars, cheaters, Franco the dealer and the mechanics who falsified the safety. Left the lot with a new (used) vehicle. Within a 5km drive home, traction light came on, called the dealer/mechanic was advised it would be a 250 repair and it was a safety critical issue that HAD to be repaired. How is that possible? They all just shrugged their shoulders. Report filed with MTO regarding false safety.
I had my vans exhaust done there two years ago. They were friendly. Had the same van safetied there in January 2024. Quoted me $2000 and “fixed” it. I Sold the van to my brother in July. We had changed owners a few times but it stayed in the family. I Told him to bring it here to get re safetied. They quoted him $2000 more work to safety it. Although it had been done up by them 6 months before. They didn’t realize it was the same van. He then took it somewhere else only to find out that the van was not safe at all and that a car exhaust had been put on our van when they fixed it two years ago. A car exhaust. That’s incredibly dangerous and I have five kids I drive around. Then they worked on the van two more times after the exhaust was on and nothing was said. How did my van go from being “fine” in their eyes to scrap? The work they quoted wasn’t even the issue. We also took our car there for a wheel bearing change and magically we had exhaust issues. They were unaware we were all the same people and the stories don’t match up. They caused $1400 worth of damage to my car and made my van undrivable and it can not be sold. Do not go here. They either have no idea what they are doing or they are crooks. Regardless I’d avoid it. This place has now cost me close to Ten thousand dollars between the van and the car.
Bad experience with this company. Recently purchased certified vehicle. Nothing but problems. I was told engine light was on due to recent repair and would adjust and turn off soon. It didn’t so my mechanic investigated and discovered transmission coolant lines are leaking causing light to stay on because these need replacing! $500 cost. Other problems were discovered too. Spoke to Franco and told covered by warranty to bring in next day at 12:30. I’m a senior lady in Brighton a 2 hour return journey. I drove to appointment , by 3:30 nothing done ,I’m upset and crying, I return home.Next Franco texted asking my mechanic to send estimate to rectify problems. Estimate $1400 plus ac is not working.Tried to contact owner, no response. My disabled sister and I are on pensions and have an unsafe vehicle. I can’t imagine Ritson Auto would want any of their elderly family members to drive a vehicle in this condition … after being respectful and patient, I now have to contact government agencies to complain and hope for compensation. Bad business. Update on my complaint April 22 . Still no response from owner, disappointed that he wouldn’t contact me directly, only through his salesman. I imagine he’s unhappy with review but left me no choice but to complain publicly. I was hoping it was a misunderstanding but I guess not. Good news is that Franco the salesman is kindly helping out by sending me an etransfer for $300. out of his own pocket. Amazing and gratefully received! A good person who cares to do the right thing! If only the owner had the same sense of ethics this could hall been avoided. Van is going into my mechanic tomorrow for repairs. I still intend on contacting compliance agencies so owner is held accountable, unless he realizes his error in dismissing my concerns and steps up! To be continued in future…..
Came in with a weird electrical problem, their mechanics were easily able to diagnose the problem and quickly repair it. Parts were available right away through them and they were extremely helpful. I will be using them for the next foreseeable future.
