They rely on old year old best before dates to make their food cheap, which means poor or low quality = not healthy! Somehow slips through the cracks of Canada Food Inspection Agency.
Owner is so nice,I went one time and doesn't have enough money, he told me I will pay next time,so I went back 2days after and repay him. I always shop here because of my budget,I don't mind about the BB dates.its a big help for those people who doesn't have much like me.
Most of the sale items are past best before dates. I'm not sure if that's the point of the name discount foods. Otherwise they did a good job renovating, but I likely won't be back. Edit to my review in response to the owner: Your attitude and lack of basic customer service skills is interesting considering you are hoping to excel in your business. Best of luck. Fyi - price is not always the reason people return and patronize a store.
Got some meat, good price point, was not able to complete my list. Most shelves are empty. Once they have stock and if they can maintain the guest service the it will be a 5 star.
Editing my review based on most recent experience (not sure if it's under new ownership) but such a big difference. The store has more products to offer. Doesnt have everthing you need for sure but Love that they have fruits, dairy products and meats. Hopefully more Asian grocery items will be available soon but definitely recommended grocery store. ---------------- Got there at 9:00 am and door is locked and lights are off. Hours posted on the door says 9am-9pm. (EDIT: My son and I waited until about 9:15-9:20 a couple of cars also waited and left)
A halal desi grocery store to go nearby where you live always very convenient and pleasant experience... Spacious store with lots of desi groceries including spices, lentils, sauces and frozen items. Variety of Mithai from Rehmat e Shireen is a plus point to go to this store. A must go place for all those who miss goodies from back home.
