They say they support lgbtq and have flags but when I went there they asked if ive ever heard in the lord and if I wanted to the prayed for im a trans male and was there with my boyfriend I won't be going there again.

Always great to attend to John Aker Northview . Librarians always helpful. Merchandising of rentals always pleasantly displayed. Activities are timely, and for good purposes. Presently a presentation in November of the food industry in Oshawa.

It was amazing the workers were very nice polite and very understanding .I wana give suggestions for municipal department that the sign board info the library at the intersection not readable clearly need to paint or change the color which can easily read able Thank you

"Cozy" would be one word to describe this library. It feels like a nice place to relax and read. It's constructed out of wood, which gives it that relaxing vibe. The only downside is the noises from the children's area, however I really like the proximity to the gym and city. I would highly recommend to those that want to simply browse and relax for a few hours by reading

As a bystander today, an employee got rude and singled out a frequently visiting family for their kids meanwhile there was multiple other kids louder and nothing was stated to them, I am disappointed in this employee for the attitude. Is not this place meant for children too? This library has had wonderful programs for children, but it seams they are expected to not be children. It was terible seeing this one family being blamed for some noise that was also being created by other children too. But the employee was quite rude to the parents. If you do not want kids in the library then why have the programs and blocks to play with and books? It needs to be redesigned to separate the kids area and the adults study area. I don't often come to this branch and I do not have a membership but I do come to use the wifi service or to just sit and read one of the magazines. Or looking at cookbooks. If one is going to be spoken to then the other parents who's children are also running about.

I love the feel of the place. Sort like a big ski chalet with cozy nooks to relax and read. Staff is very attentive to your needs and accommodating to your requests. If they don't have your book, they will search the province to get it for you. Great place to go!

I have and enjoyed a great time here. They have many computers. Although, the catalog section might not work for people who are looking to go on google or the internet to play games. Some people have issues with how the computer limits you to only one hour, but if you spend lots of time on it and there's no one in line, the computer automatically offers you another 20 minutes. Of course, it only gives you that offer 3 times if there's no one waiting. So if that computer is free, you can use it for maximum 2 hours. They have many books, and they are well sectioned to where they belong. The noise level, of course, HAS to be dealt with. Maybe, the Librarians should remind anyone who is being loud to stay quiet or lower their voices. After all, the Library is not only for fun with computers, or just a place to pick out books and go home, it's a place where people STAY there to study because they think it's the.. ''quietest'' place. So can we please keep it that way? Watch out for the catalog section, and also, if you are fine with just a little bit of noise at times, this is a PERFECT place for you, as well as for me.

I love it, if is nice and quiet I wish that there could be more space for just sitting and not computers.

why not have the lap-top study desks at one end of the library and the kids play area at the other? why is there a play area for kids in a library in the first place? the place is long enough to keep the kids at one end and the study desks at the other and keep everyone happpy

Librarians are helpful. It has lots of great programs as well. Environment is fun, safe and laid back.

Hi Kathleen. That does sound like something we need to look into. Children are, of course, welcome at all our library branches - there is quite a nice children's area at the Northview Branch where they can use the computers, play games, or sit and read with their responsible adults. I'll pass your comment along. Thanks for letting us know.
