I love sports Chek! When I try on shoes I put them back in the box responsibly as to not cause confusion or frustration for the staff or fellow customers!! Great store great staff (Don is awesome)
Our family had a very upsetting experience here today. We were simply trying on different shoes, and because we didn’t put every pair back into the exact box, the staff acted like we were doing something wrong. Putting inventory back properly is literally the employees’ job, not the customer’s! The manager, Don, didn’t even try to listen to our side. Instead, he told us to leave the store, which was extremely embarrassing for our whole family. We’ve never been treated like this anywhere else. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
A truly humiliating, frightening, and discriminatory experience for our entire family. We went to this Sport Chek with 10 family members to buy shoes for five kids. While the kids were simply trying different sizes — something completely normal — we felt we were being watched and judged by the staff the entire time. One staff member even started telling us to “put the shoes back in the box” while we were still deciding. He then called the manager over something so small and normal. Instead of asking us if we needed help or offer any support in finding the right shoes for our kids. Even Management did not asked us if we need help. Instead, they began arguing with us, and things got escalated only because of their attitude. When we tried explaining,. management refused to listen and told us they would not serve us and that we had to leave. When we refused to leave — because we had done absolutely nothing wrong — they called security unnecessarily and created a horrible scene in front of everyone. We felt discriminated against and targeted, People in the store were staring at us, as if we had done something wrong. We were distressed, embarrassed, and deeply hurt. This behavior was completely unprofessional, disrespectful, racist, and unacceptable. No family should ever go through something like this..
Horrible experience at Sport Chek oshawa centre. My family and I were publicly humiliated by staff and the manager over refusing to put shoes back in the box—a responsibility that should never fall on customers. They embarrassed us in front of everyone and kicked us out. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Avoid this store if you value basic respect.
My family and I had one of the worst shopping experiences we’ve ever had at this Sport Chek location. We were simply trying on shoes, and although we didn’t put every pair back immediately, the staff’s reaction was completely uncalled for. Instead of speaking to us politely or offering assistance, the employees and manager treated us rudely and made us feel embarrassed in front of other customers. What made the situation even worse is that they asked our entire family to leave the store, which felt unnecessary and disrespectful. We left feeling shocked and humiliated. No family deserves to be treated this way. This experience has made us not want to return to this location at all.
Extremely disappointed with my experience at sport chek. The staff and manager (name as Don) treated me and my family with complete disrespect. We were asked to put shoes back in the box—a task that should not be a customer responsibility—and when I refused, they publicly embarrassed us in front of my family and other customers, then kicked us out. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, unprofessional, and disrespectful !!!!
I wish I remember the name of the gentleman who was helping me with shoes yesterday. He was absolutely fabulous and even though I didn’t end up buying anything, he helped me figure out what kind of shoe would best support my foot and I ended up buying the shoe he recommended in a different colour from a different store as they didnt have it in stock. My feet are forever thankful thank you so much!!
