Happy to have a Caribbean store close. They have a wide variety of items can have a wider variety of fresh Guyanese pastries. But every little thing can be found here.

One thing with West Indian people is they always think they’re better than the next. All these people here with negative reviews are prime examples of how those people act. I’ve lived in Oshawa for 7 years. First year we went to a “West Indian” shop that had more African supplies than West Indian. We travelled to Scarborough all the time to get certain items; items you can only find in Scarborough. 7 years later as my family and I were driving, my wife caught this store out the side of her eye. The owner, was in the process of closing and when my family walked in. He had a smile on his face and didn’t even say anything rude to us. We walked around, found some things we can’t find anywhere else in Oshawa and then started inquiring about products they stock as we were quite surprised. Found our usual masala, pepper sauce, Norman Sue bread and even the other one-two things you only find in Scarborough. As I asked about prices of meats, we asked if he had Gilbaka and he said yes. Although the kitchen was obviously just cleaned and spotless, he offered to get one from the freezer with no hesitation. When my guy put that on the scale and weighed it, my wife and I gave each other the secret look when we both agree on something right away. He instantly turned on the saw, cut it up for us as requested in three separate bags and let my children and wife roam as he did so. Mind you, all of this was after the closing time of 4:00pm on a Sunday. All you people out there with bad mind should just go somewhere else and shop because this friendly shop don’t need your bullshit. It’s the real ones that will ensure this place succeeds, and as I told him, I’m definitely going back no matter what. If you don’t like this place, move on and see what service is like at other places. Leave this establishment alone. They are one of the first of its kind in Oshawa and I wish them nothing but success. Keep doing your thing guys. Great products. Great prices. Top notch service. All I recommend is getting some butter flap and plait bread and I won’t ever have to go back to Charley’s or M and S or Baksh again! Lol See you soon! I’m recommending all my people to this place.

I bought 3 Coco to put in my soup 2 was bad but i was very bad. I took it back and was told she cant give me a refund because thats how it came from tge suppliers. Don't know if I'm wrong but I feel if I buy in a shop and I'm not happy with the product to keep a customer you should please the customer. How could you want to lose a customer because of $5.00. But thats how some black people think. It's a shame.

I've been supporting this shop for the last 5 years I've been in Durham. I am highly disappointed considering we're in a global pandemic, the prices are outrageous. I called few times to inquire about produce which seam to be a bother to the owner, she was super rude and snappy. I'm all about supporting local but I'm done. Customer service and fair prices are everything!

Great small islandy grocery store in Oshawa. Good variety of spices and seasonings. Mwat counter as well. Frozen patties or fresh out the lunch counter.

The owner is such a sweet lady, very helpful and always answers questions. I have married a guyanese man and love to cook. I have been making alot of different guyanese recipes and she always offers me advice. My husband has been so happy with everything I have made so far. Duck curry, goat curry, pepperpot, garlic pork, roti, sorrell, curry chicken etc. I am know there as the duck lady and love that she remembers me. A personal experience and I love going in everytime. She always has a smile and so pleasant to deal with. I would recommend this store to anyone.

Man these people are randomly closing the store!!! They never respect the hours...Many many times I came and the door is closed, inside dark and nobody there!

Thank you for your review Carmen. I can not cerdit you for the ends/skin of the coco. It would not be fair to other customers. It is not about the money but the principle. I was trying to post a picture with your return but unable. Thank you and have a great day!
