I went with my elderly mother yesterday to shop at Northern Reflections in the Oshawa Centre and the manager (Irene) provided excellent customer service to us. She was extremely patient, helpful and knowledgeable. Irene’s passion to help others was truly appreciated. My mom was very happy with her purchase of two pairs of pants; two necklaces; two tops and a cardigan. The store currently has good sales on! A big shout out of “thanks” to Irene as l truly appreciated the assistance she gave my mother. She exceeded our expectations.
I was relieved to see a few reviews wherein the rudeness was mentioned because I now know it’s not me. Today, tried to return a sweater I bought on Black Friday. I realize it was a couple of months ago, however, after wearing only a couple of times, the body started to separate from the turtleneck. I will admit I didn’t have the bill but am a member and know purchases can be found by looking up my phone number. And, yes, I had washed it but that kind of defect for the prices NR charges is completely unacceptable. As NR is known for their quality and the fact that I spent literally hundreds of dollars on Black Friday, I was confident I would be offered something, anything, as a measure of goodwill. I couldn’t have been more mistaken or disappointed. As soon as I removed the sweater from my bag and without even looking at the defect, I was greeted with, ‘I won’t be able to do anything for you.’ Pardon me? You WON’T help me? ‘No, you don’t have your bill and the sweater has been washed.’ There was a complete lack of concern or even an attempt to help. I certainly hope the new owners of NR will provide retraining in Customer Service. Regardless, I will never again step foot in the Oshawa or any other NR store.
OMG - Never again! Went in to buy PJ’s for my Mom way before Xmas to ensure I get the size. These went on sale, brought it back to get my 40% off. Sales lady, gave me a hard time and said that I can’t get the 40% of because of that. After her being so rude, she finally gave me my money back. Then I ordered more items online as all staff is rude and not too bright. I shipped to the store and when it arrived, went to the store to pick it up. The sales lady questioned as to why my drivers license had Kathleen and my order had Kathy. Everything else was the same. My last name, my address even my picture on my drivers license still looks like me. She stood there, dumbfounded, continuously, questioning why my name was Kathy on the package. Duh! I have never met such rude, ignorant, and demeaning staff. I think the CEO of the company should take a look at their employees as I will never go back into the store again. Did I mention I have been shopping here for as long as they have been in business? Never again!
The salesperson here is the rudest person I have ever interacted with. She should stop assuming why the customer is in the store and can stop judging people from top to bottom with her eyes ! So rude and highly disrespectful.
Walked into this store today with my wife to purchase some clothes for a gift for my mother-in-law. We arrived just in time to witness this scenario. Worker is clearing clothes from some surface in the store and a customer says to her “oh no, I’m going to buy those”. This was met with an angry retort but the employee “if you are going to buy them they should be behind the cash”. To which the customer, instantly shamed begins to apologize. Can you imagine having to apologize for not knowing the intricacies of an establishment but wanting to buy some of their product. This customer, an elderly lady was clearly embarrassed. I’m angry at myself that I didn’t say anything. That I allowed this abusive worker to speak to this poor lady like this. I just left because I was afraid of what I might say or how I’d behave. What I do know is I’ll never step foot in this store again.
Love this store! Great selection of styles and sizes. Staff is fantastic and very helpful. Love when staff is honest on how something looks on you. Took advantage of their great sale and walked out feeling like a million bucks. Keep up the great job ladies.
