Scam! Scam! Scam! Thieves! They will steal your money. Bad experience and rude customer service!
There is a lot of pluses having a membership @DUFC. From friendly helpful staff to having ample parking space. There is a community feel here with members attending over 15 years! The environment is very comfortable and members are respectful. Even at busier times, there is enough equipment to get your workout in.
The staff here make coming to the gym easy! Always feel very welcomed when I walk through the doors. The gym is never overly busy and has tons of equipment to get the job done! DUFC offers great personal training sessions as well as fitness classes! Did I mention the price is RIGHT?!
Unfortunately my experience with this gym has been nothing, but negative. The staff are not empowered to make decisions regarding customer service, and cancellations on their own. They must consult the owners, who are only in one day per week. When I called to initially cancel they said they did, however, after the cancellation period I am still being charged. When I called to ask why that is, they said I never called to cancel, they just saw a note on my file that I called and email was sent to the owner. The representative was rude, and had no answers for me. I'd recommend never joining this gym, simply because of how terrible the cancellation policy is. The other reviews are absolutely correct, its a scam.
When this club first opened as NRG they were the friendliest, wholesome family run gym around and I LOVED it, I was a member for 7 years and NEVER ran into an issue like this. Unfortunately things have changed drastically and now if I could give zero stars I could.When I first signed up I was told by the membership sales person when it was time to cancel that I should come in a week before my membership was due again to close my account. I inquired if i could do it earlier but they informed me that there was no way for them to do it sooner. Today is Wednesday, since Sunday morning I have called numerous times speaking to many different individuals regarding trying to cancel my membership. Finally this morning I was able to speak with someone but now she is telling me that I should have tried to cancel it a minimum of 60 days ago. When I explained that that was not the instructions i had received from the previous employee she told me that I was out of luck and would be required to pay the additional weeks. When I asked if there was some concession that could be made due to the fact it was their own employee that misinformed me she proceeded to threaten me with collections if I was unwilling to pay. She said that the agreement I signed stated that it was a 60 day cancellation process, and that their employee was mistaken but that is what I signed so i was bound to it. To anyone who wants to use this gym BEWARE, they are not the nice friendly NRG Fitness Club that once opened many many years ago. I would HIGHLY recommend that you look elsewhere.
