Stayed for the weekend, one night saw a man at the front desk mentioning how something was stolen from his room as he was checking out he told me to not stay there. It had been too late I was on my second night and didnt take his word for it. Come Sunday morning Im heading out back to the states and realize my passport is missing. I called thinking maybe it wasnt coincidental. Then I spoke with the front desk and they had said it has been cleaned out and nothing was reported. Following this the very next day all of a sudden they had said it turned up. This was now an invalid passport to me because I reported it stolen/lost already. Now Im connecting the dots from the story and have a pretty strong accusation. I know accusations arent good, but the manager said to me theres nothing they can do and kept interrupting me as I tried to speak. The management was terrible with this situation. No reassurance of being held to better security for their clients whatsoever. We as customers trust their staff to come into our rooms and not touch our stuff. But the fact that a guy complained the night before is all too suspicious. Manager didnt even let me know that theyd look into the matter an accusation needs to be resolved by investigation. Do not stay here until management has been changed security is not their top priority. I filed a complaint already and have an ongoing case with the Wyndham customer hotel care. Now Im at a huge inconvinve the embassy I go to get my passport is 4 hours away and have no time, Im not made of money the way they handled this was ridiculous. Not to mention I had to call many times to get a hold of their manager. He only called me once which was very early in the morning I had missed it because I was sleeping after a long drive back to the states. I hope and pray something is done about this so it never happens to anyone else. That random stranger and I shouldnt have to put up with this lack of management. Managers name is Michael by the way.
Other than needing updating/freshening up, it's a great hotel, especially for families. An indoor swimming pool and hot tub, breakfast every morning and good service with comfy beds and 4 different rooms/suites available. They allow pets for $25 every 4 days, have coffee available in lounge all day, offer a few smoking rooms on 1st floor and keep the place tidy. Would stay again.
We just finished a whirlwind tour of the U.S. on our way back from our winter in Mexico. Because we have a dog we are not welcome to every hotel. This was one of the nicest pet friendly hotels we've stayed in over the last two weeks. We got the room for 67.00 a night ... it was spotless and looked as though it's been recently re-done. Free Breakfast was great and it's very close to the Oshawa Center and other big box stores in Whitby. We would absolutely stay here again if need be. Much better than some of the flea bag "chain" hotels we suffered through in the States!
Needs to be renovated...can smell smoke and pot in the hallways. Thought all Public Places were banned from smoking. This hotel doesn't seem too think so. My bathroom stunk of urine...housekeeping needs to clean better. Will never stay there again.
Ripping up carpet during my stay. Very loud and dusty. The towels are puny, old and gross. It's time to replace them. The guests that stay here are more friendly than the front desk workers. I was never acknowledged. The ladies that work housekeeping were very cheerful and friendly. Front desk can learn a thing or two from them.
