Wow, I can't remember the last time a garage has been this honest and helpful! I found Vanderheyden on google after having issues getting my Mercedes instrument cluster fixed at another garage in Ajax. I spoke with Wim, who was extremely helpful in bringing in a specialist to fix the issue in a matter of hours (whereas the other garage took 4 weeks and couldn't fix it). Wim didn't request or make any money for himself, and I only paid the specialist for the repair cost. Wim wouldnt even take my money when i tried to pay him for his time in setting it all up! After the bad experience i had with the other garage, the experience I had with Wim and Vanderheyden's was a refreshing and pleasant surprise.
It’s important to book an appointment in advance, as they have a very well-organized schedule. I originally went in for a specific issue, but I also took the opportunity to switch from winter to summer tires. I only have one set of rims, and they really helped me understand the importance of having a dedicated set for each season. After inspecting the car, they called me to clearly explain everything that needed attention and prioritized each item. Since we drive the car with two kids, we decided to go ahead and take care of all the necessary work. What I really appreciate about Wim is his approach to finding solutions once a problem is identified. He’s friendly, the prices are reasonable, and he has a great team behind him. If I ever had any questions or just wanted to know the condition of my car, I wouldn’t hesitate to go back — they are truly honest and reliable.
Wim and his team are great to work with. As a customer, I am always looking to obtain information on what the issues with the vehicle are, what are the options available to choose from for the fix, and most importantly - how to do preventative maintenance. This is what I have always found as a mystery black-box at dealership service centers, while here with Wim, I feel comforted that my vehicle is in the hands of a competent trusted advisor.
i have been here for a few times, and they do know what they are doing but they overcharge, ive been doing most of my own car stuff and it doesn’t cost that much
The manager(Will?) and the younger mechanician Liam are super responsible and transparent. They solved a rare signal on my MB very quickly and charged fairly. They are very friendly and we chatted about our trip afterwards.
I took my truck to a local Chev dealer with check engine light on. They say they replaced a sensor for $600. I drove it once and light came back on. Took it back and they now say I need a new fuel pump for $1,000 and insisted the 2 issues were unrelated. So I took it to Vanderheydens instead and they immediately found a broken gasket on the tank and fixed it for a fraction. These guys know their stuff! Local family business with amazing customer care. Don’t waste your money at a dealer!!!!
I'm very happy to have discovered this place. They did an awesome job on all my cars. They're a little pricey, but the job gets done right the first time. Can't find honest folks like that around
