I love the clothing so much! Unfortunately had a pretty bizarre experience on the evening of July 12th. My friend and I walked into the store to browse the sale. There were two employees working the floor, a man and a woman. The woman kept following me around and wouldn’t let me look for clothing sizes myself. When she pulled the size for me for the pants, she handed them to me. She asked if I wanted to try them on and I said yes please, and she took them from me again and made a point to say that she was going to take them. I tried them on and decided to buy them. I paid with cash, including a $50 bill. The man behind the register kept looking and feeling the bill to check that it was not fraudulent and even went so far as to hide it under the computer mouse and rummage around behind the desk. I understand cash scams are common, but come on. My friend was still trying on items so I went to wait for her, and both employees were intensely watching me the entire time. I’m heavily tattooed with multiple facial piercings, and I can’t help but feel like I was profiled a little. I get that associates need to watch for theft but I NEVER gave any indication that I was acting suspicious or malicious. They were not acting this way with any of the other customers. I felt like calling them out but held my tongue as I didn’t want anything to escalate. I found the whole experience super discouraging and I’m hesitant to go back to this location
I recently had a really disappointing experience at Roots. I went in with my receipt to return an item and was met with extremely unhelpful and rude customer service. The person assisting me was dismissive and unwilling to listen or offer any solutions. I explained clearly that the card used for the purchase was a joint account and that I could prove it, but they refused to refund the amount back to the card. Instead, they insisted the only option was to issue a gift card—despite me having the original receipt and proper documentation. The staff member I dealt with showed no interest in helping resolve the issue and acted like I was an inconvenience. It felt like they were more focused on sticking to a script than actually providing customer service. Very frustrating and honestly disappointing for a brand like Roots. I expected better. It definitely is making me reconsider shopping at roots in the future if this is the way they treat their customers.
No help. I purchased items at another store however the security tags were not removed. I walked in with the receipt from the day prior. As I did not know, nor did I expect a security tag to be on the clothes I took the tags off and wash them. When I brought the clothes to the store to remove the tags today, they said they cannot remove the security tag As the product tag was not on it anymore. Thanks for stealing my $200 roots. Will not be back and will not recommend.
The family and I browsed for Christmas shopping. We ended up buying stuff for our selves lol. We bought a blanket, Christmas ornaments, two wallets, Christmas pj's sets. A good howl for a small trip. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. Felt comfortable to look around which made us buy more. Good inventory of items and nice layout of store. Thank you to the staff for being so accommodating.
I love Roots. Went to try on a pair of slippers. They felt amazing. They didn’t have the colour I wanted. I ordered them online and they were delivered two days later. If you wrecked looking for a nice comfy pair of slippers this is the place to get them.
Wow can the customer service be any more horrible than this? I guess it is hard to find employees if Roots has people like the person we dealt with today. No wonder the store is always empty. Do better Roots. Retrain these miserable employees.
Roots has amazing Canadian Quality . I just wish their prices were more in line with other Canadian retailers. I know a lot of us would buy buy more products from here. This is a good store. Please support it.
